Excuse the display, but I only have the one tailors dummy and it is female. :) The jumper has patterns all over it. I don’t thing there is one bit that doesn’t have some sort of cable pattern or twist stitch on it. It was great fun to knit. I have knitted it in 25% Wool, 75% Acrylic so that it can be machine washed at 40 degrees. This garment was knitted for stock and will be going to my next Craft Fair with me. I still have lots of knitting to do for stock, including more jumpers, jackets, coats, cardigans, socks……… and much more! We finally got a nice day and I managed to get out and take some photos of my recently completed projects. This jumper was really quick to knit up and when I looked at the pattern, I thought that the flowers in the middle panel looked like thistles. The yarn I used is a black/blue/green colour. Although you can’t tell from the photo, it has a kind of tartan look to it and I thought it would go well with the thistles. I was so worried having it outside that I just shoved it on the dummy and didn’t bother to check that it was lying right before taking the photo, but knowing the weather here in the NE of Scotland, I didn’t want to take too long outside incase it started to rain again. :) I am really pleased with how it turned out and may well do some more in different colours. I will post more photos tomorrow. Technorati Tags: Aran, Finished Projects, Hand Knitting
I have managed to get a few things knitted over the past while, one of which is this Aran Cardigan, with a collar. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but it really turned out nice. I will probably knit some more in other colours and sizes, this one is knitted in Denim and is size36/38″. I will get some more photos of the other things that I have finished over the past couple of weeks online as soon as possible. Technorati Tags: 25%wool, Aran, aran cardigan, Hand Knitting
The pattern is from “Hats On!” by Charlene Schurch I remember when I was maybe 12 or 13 knitting a Fair Isle jumper and doing the yoke on a circular needle but I haven’t done anything like it since. Everything went fine until I got to the crown shaping. I am used to written instructions and this pattern has a chart instead. By the time I had finished the hat I had gotten the hang of reading the pattern properly, but I don’t think my mistakes have made much of a difference and the hat fits my partner David and it looks ok. I just used some of my odd balls of Aran to do the hat and it didn’t take much yarn and it only took an evening in front of the tv to get it done, so I will be doing some more of these to use up some of the boxes of odd balls that I have. :) Technorati Tags: Aran, circular knitting, Hand Knitting, knitting in the round, two colour pattern |
