The shawl is knitted in 4ply yarn. It measures approx. 44″

I am in the process of knitting the jacket and bootees to go with it.

Her name is Milly……

and she is an 8 week old Jack Russell puppy.

Here she is with a 50g ball of 4 ply yarn so that you can see just how small she is.

She is full of beans and loves to chew fingers and everything else.

I am still managing to get some knitting done, I have nearly finished a 4 ply baby shawl, but it is taking a bit longer than usual.

Although I have never been a fan of dogs with jackets, I have been very tempted to knit a jumper for Milly although I have not given into the temptation yet.

I came home on the 25th and David tried his jumper on and loved it straight away. Normally, when he gets something new, it sits in the cupboard for months before he will wear it, but not this time.

He hasn’t taken it off since he got it!

The weather has turned wintry here this week. It is snowing at the moment and it is really cold. I am very happy that it was only windy when I drove back from mums.

Since getting back, I have received orders for another 4 baby sets, so I have a total of 6 sets to knit.

When David tried the jumper on, it just didn’t look good on him, so I have promised to knit him another one in a different colour and pattern.

Since finishing the jumper, I have been knitting another baby set to go with the circular shawl that I have already knitted.

I just have to finish the bonnet and sew it all up.

I also got an order for another two baby sets and then I have to do another complete layette, (shawl, jacket and bootees).

My mother has not been very well lately, so I am going to see her for the next week and a bit.

I won’t have much computer access, (it will depend on whether or not my brother is feeling generous or not )

While I am away, I will be knitting the other jumper for David and hopefully will have it finished by the time I come back.

I still have two sleeved to do to get my other halfs birthday jumper finished.  There really is no way that I am going to have it done in time.

I might just have to bake him a cake and make him a special dinner and then give him the jumper when I get it finished.

This set was very sewing intensive.

All of the edges, including the front bands, cuffs etc, were knitted in stocking stitch and then sewn over. So there is no bands as such, but there was a great deal of sewing.

I had a hard time finding buttons that looked ok on the jackets, but in the end I found some that were bought to put onto greeting cards. They were just the right size to fit through the button holes and hopefully they won’t fall out.

I couldn’t have used buttons any smaller.

I have done a white version of this set.

I don’t know why, but when I am knitting an order for someone, I always seem to take longer than when I am just knitting for the fun of it.

Just to prove my point, I have started and finished a childs aran jumper since Saturday and I am now knitting a jumper for my other halfs birthday on the 8th.

I will post pictures of both later.

Number 3 was the same as this but in pink.

I have done the fronts and have just started the back on number 5 and I hope to get them finished by the start of next week, so that I can move on to other things. They are really starting to annoy me now!

This set consists of jacket, bonnet and bootees, and is knitted in DK yarn.

One of the orders that I have changed from being “No Hurry” to “Can I get them as quickly as possible, please” so I have been busy trying to get the six baby sets finished. I have done two of the six, although I have done another two, but I didn’t realise until I had finished them that I had knitted the wrong size, so I will have to do them over again.

Because I don’t have any new finished projects to show you, I decided to take a photo of some of my yarn stash, but I couldn’t fit it into one photo, so there is two.

In the first picture is my stash of Aran yarn. I am currently running a bit low and will need to order some more soon.

The second picture shows some of my other yarn which  includes  everything from Chunky to lace weight.

I am not sure if I like the way it is lying but at least I will have another jumper to wear. The weather is getting worse here. We have had a lot of wind and rain over the past week.

This jumper, although knitted using DK yarn, has wool in it and will be warm without being too bulky like Aran.

Not sure what I am going to knit next, I will probably spend a few hours going through patterns and magazines until I find something I fancy doing.

This is my first jumper knitted on a circular needle and from the top down. Although the pattern is plain stocking stitch, every row knit on the circ, I have found it quite exciting to watch it grow and turn from a bunch of stitches into what now is starting to look like a jumper.

This is also the first patten that I have purchased online and I am very pleased with the current results.

I am knitting this jumper for myself, so it is one of the larger sizes and I am knitting it in Wendy Mode DK in Navy.

The pattern is from chicknits.com and has instructions for sizes 36″ up to 54″ so it is a great pattern no matter what size you are and at only $5.95 it is great value.

If you are any good at adapting patters, this would be a good one as a basic starting point and then you could add your own pattern detail to it.

I always have a hard time knitting stuff for myself because I have an odd shaped body, but I hope that this one will fit me. Keep your fingers crossed. I really do need another jumper!
