On one of my rare trips to Aberdeen, I went into John Lewis and bought a scarf kit. The kit included 3 balls of Rowans Kid Silk Haze, a pair of 4mm needles, and a pattern for 3 different garments. The 3 balls would be enough to knit either a shawl, a shrug or a scarf. I decided to start with the easiest one first. The scarf. In the picture, I am nearly at the end of the first ball and the scarf already measures about 20″, so by the time I am finished it should be over 60″, which is a good length for a scarf. My only problem with knitting this scarf, is that I can’t do it while watching tv. The pattern isn’t very hard and is quite easy to remember, but the yarn is so fine that it is easy to drop a stitch, so it needs full concentration. The scarf is lovely to touch and not itchy at all. The yarn is 70% Super Kid Mobair and 30% silk, so it is lovely and soft and very strong.
