Scrapbooking is more than just a fun activity to do to pass the time. It’s also a way to express yourself and to bring memorable moments to life. One of the questions that’s first asked is: how do I get started? Today, I’m going to give you seven items you need to get before starting your first scrapbooking project.
Memorable Items
The first thing you need are some pictures or memorable items. This should be fairly obvious, but I wanted to point it out. Without them, there’s nothing to scrapbook.
Get an Album
Next, you need to pick up an album. The size, color and so forth are up to you. Pick up something that’s going to be fun to work with.
All Refills were not Created Equal
Album refills come in all shapes and sizes. When you buy your album, get the refills right then and there. It will save you time and a headache later.
Scissors are a Must
Get an excellent pair of scissors. I can’t say this enough. Spend the money on a razor-sharp pair of scissors. It will allow for a better scrapbooking experience.
Cardstock and other Paper
You’ll want to pick up various pieces of cardstock and other printed items that match what you’re trying to do. I’d recommend heading to the scrapbook or crafts store. They are full of products and ideas.
Pens
If you do go to the craft store, look for acid-free pens. They should have lots of them. Again, pick out the pens that match your style. Since you’re at the craft store, get a bunch—you’ll need them.
Adhesive for the Project
When you scrapbook, you paste all sorts of stuff together. That stuff doesn’t hold on its own. The type of adhesive you use is up to you. Just make sure it is acid-free adhesive. There are even removable adhesive options out there, which is a favorite type of many scrapbookers.
